Author Interview With Jillian Quinn

About Jillian Quinn

Okay, so the first thing that you should probably know is that Jill (Jillian Quinn, whom I always call “Jill”) and I are very good friends. Seriously, I’d say she’s my best friend. She and I talk on the phone almost daily. Usually, we talk about book ideas, plots, how we work, how MUCH we work, our families, our exes (all those horrible guys lol), our goals, our short comings, and, of course, what we love to read!

Everyone who knows me knows that I, 1- never meet a stranger and 2- I’m everyone’s friend (until you fuck me over). Jill and I actually became friends because one day, I sent her a random message that said, “Hey, you wanna do newsletter swaps and help promote each other’s work?” Bare with me, I’m paraphrasing here. I seriously considered going through our messages to see what my first message was to her, but we talk WAY too much for all that. We’d never spoken a day before this, nor had we ever done a takeover together. It’d be the equivalent of a strange person asking you to share something with them.

She warmed up to me fairly quickly and within a week, we were talking on the phone. To this day, we still laugh at how randomly we sparked up a friendship because of my crazy shenanigans. Jill would never dream of sending someone a random message like that in a million years, but I do stuff like that all the time. Anyway, of course she agreed to do an interview with me, and I’ll add some stuff in at the end. Enjoy!

Jillian Quinn

Q:Are you married, single or spoken for?

A: Single and not ready to mingle.

Q: What is your favorite book, movie and/or TV show?

A: Favorite books- The Iliad (absolute fave and I still can’t believe you had never heard of it), The Hunger Games, Harry Potter Series, Beautiful Disaster, anything Sarah J. Maas, Stephen King, Blake Crouch, John Grisham, or Jay Kristoff

Favorite TV shows- Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, Gossip Girl, Entourage, The IT Crowd, and Silicon Valley

Favorite movies- The Godfather, The Godfather, The Godfather. Oh, did I forget to say The Godfather? And why haven’t you watched it yet? Wedding Crashers, Step Brothers, Old School, The Boondock Saints, Harry Potter Series, The Hunger Games Series

I think I gave you enough to work with. 🙂

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: Write, read books, complain, watch TV, talk to you on the phone, go shopping with my mama bear, hang out at the pool…stuff. Stop being so nosy. (See, I told you we talk on the phone all the time. I didn’t even read her answers before writing the above intro lol)

Q: How do you come up with your story ideas?

A: Most of my ideas come from my personal life or from people I know. Sometimes, I find inspiration in movies and TV shows. Corrupt Me came to me while watching The Godfather and Parker while watching hockey, etc.

Q: What is something you have to do or have while writing?

A: I need coffee next to me when writing, no matter what time of the day. (Seriously, she has an addiction with her coffee. I can confirm this.)

Q: Which book was most difficult to write? Why?

A: Kane, the second book in the Face-Off Series, was the hardest to write. I had gotten sick in the middle of writing the story, and because of that, I had a hard time finishing the story. It still amazes me that Kane is some of my readers favorite books given how much trouble I had writing the ending.

Q: Do you like it when readers message you after reading your book?

A: Yes, I think it’s awesome to hear from readers. I love getting a random email or message on Facebook to talk about my books. (This is seriously true about JQ, or Jillian Quinn. We tell each other about messages from our readers and how awesome it is. Even though she’s not as random as me, she loves hearing from her fans.)

Q: What type of program do you use to write your books in?

A: I use Word docs to write and sometimes use the notes on my phone when I’m not near my computer.

Q: Do you have any upcoming conventions or signings if we want to meet you and/or get signed books?

A: I would like to attend signings in 2018, but I’m not sure where to look. I’d like to go to RT in Reno if possible. (Me too, girl, me too! I just want to meet you in person and give you the biggest hug! I’d think it was bad ass if we both went to RT.)

Q: Do you offer signed paperbacks to your readers? If so, how can they obtain them?

A: Yes, I have a book and swag store on my website at (her store is pretty kick ass. I need to copy her but I don’t have the time lol.)

Q: What’s in store for 2018 in regards to your writing?

A: I’m going back to my roots and finishing the Mafia series I had started with Corrupt Me but I’m changing the series branding. I also plan to release more hockey books as well as other sports. (DO the mafia! I want to read it!)

Q: Who is another author that you look to for inspiration or would like to be mentored by?

A: Stephen King or J.K. Rowling (and I love that they are BFFs. So cute) (I seriously did not know this, Jill. LOL)

Q: Please list your follow links where readers can find more information about you and your work?

A: – Amazon Author Page:

Q: Anything else you’d like to add?

A: Are you copying this as is? Lol (You bet your ass, babe. ROLFMAO!)

Hopefully, you were thoroughly entertained by this interview. I love my Jillian Quinn to pieces and am so glad that I decided to send her that random message. She’s a great writer, a talented story teller, and a wonderful friend. Now, I’ll let you in on a little secret. What? I couldn’t put it at the very top and let you miss all of our craziness. Jill and I share a little inside joke called, “the manilla boner folder,” and I mentioned it in Dare Me. I actually put that in the book because it was so hilarious!

Jill used to work at a job where there was a guy who used to get erections at his desk, and he hid them with a manilla folder. I coined the term, “manilla boner folder” and didn’t tell her that I was putting it in the book until after I published it. ROFL I’m sure Jill has some equally funny stories about me, and maybe one day I’ll be cool enough that she’ll include one of my silly stories in her books.
